Musician
Gethin Jones is an award winning musician with over a decade of experience touring and recording. He has played with such names as Jools Holland, Paloma Faith, The Kansas Smittys, Alaskalaska, Adrian Cox, Baby Sol, Fraser and the Alibis to name a few. His drumming can regularly be heard played on major radio stations all over the world as well as soundtracks for blockbuster films and television. He has played at some of the most prestigious venues in the world including Dizzy’s Jazz Club in New York and Ronnie Scotts in London. Gethin has also performed at music festivals all over the world including Rochester Jazz Festival NY, Glastonbury, Reading and Leeds festival as well as many of the venues on the European circuit.
Gethin did his undergraduate in music at the Royal Welsh Collage of Music and Drama in Cardiff where he specialised in Jazz drumming and latin percussion. After spending five years living in the Welsh capital and gigging around South Wales and the South West of England he gained a place the prestigious music collage Trinity Laban in Greenwich, London, where he continued to study Jazz and world percussion learning from some of the greatest drummers in the industry such as Jeff Williams, Martin France, Dave Wickins, Gene Calderazzo and learning world beats and contemporary rhythm with Barak Schmool.
Since graduating from Trinity Laban in the summer of 2011 Gethin has been gigging, recording, producing and teaching all over the world and is considered an important member of the British music scene.
